LIMITED Boil Water Notice 8-21-2014

Please read the attached notice from The Department of Public Works. We will keep people updated as quickly as possible.

08-21-14 LIMITED Boil Water Notice

August 25, 2014:
The Precautionary Limited Boil Water Notice issued last Thursday is now OVER. Three consecutive sets of water samples have shown no signs of contamination so the department can now certify that the water is (and has been) safe to consume.

The Notice applied only to system users in the Dorr Drive, Campbell Road, Stone Ridge Drive neighborhoods (west of Otter Creek). It was instituted out of concern that the protracted low to negative pressure event Thursday (due to the Rutland Plywood fire) might have resulted in contaminants being drawn into the system. At no time did the department have evidence that the water system was contaminated, but events like that one can result in contaminated pipes.

This has been an inconvenience for many people and businesses and your cooperation and patience are greatly appreciated. Thanks are also extended to the American Red Cross for quickly making bottled water available to affected families.
