Offender Reentry Panel Training Announcement
 
Mark Your Calendars and become part of the greater solution to offender recidivism by becoming a member of an Offender Reentry Panel.
 
This training will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Vision Center, 108 Wales Street, Rutland, from 9 am-12:00 pm. Chris Barton, VTDOC Restorative Systems Administrator for the Department of Corrections will lead this training.
 
Participants will learn the four process steps of the Reintegration Restorative Panel model. These steps include Establishment Of Common Ground, Understanding the Impact of Harm, Offender Acceptance of Responsibility and the Development of a Plan to Address the Harm. Panels meet every two weeks with offenders who have been released from a correctional facility and are now living in the Rutland Community.
 
These panels are helping offenders reintegrate successfully through a combination of support and accountability.
